What should I bring?
The pilot should bring any and all information they feel helpful to the AME. The pilot must bring their payment method, the identification and the MedXpress Confirmation Number, and any AASI forms they have. They should also review CACI or ASSI condition requirements and bring all necessary items to the exam. They are strongly encouraged to bring their printed application and anything which may be helpful in making for a smooth and fast issuance of a medical certificate immediately or through your AASI.
What should I expect?
You should expect a comfortable, quiet environment and a warm welcome. Dr. Green’s office is different than most medical offices in all the right ways. We are located on the second floor with stair or elevator access. Appointments are 99.9999% on time or even early!
First, our nurse Brenda will collect your documents, your payment, and check you in. Then, she will begin the exam with vitals, vision testing, and urine sampling. You and Dr Green will meet to discuss the application and perform the physical exam.
About 90% of applicants receive the medical certificate on the day of the exam, which is printed from the office. The other 10% are deferred to the FAA for further review. A Medical Certificate is not guaranteed but Dr Green does do everything in his power to provide one. Dr Green guides pilots on the information the FAA needs to get them medically cleared as quickly as possible and is successful the vast majority of the time. Our goal is always for applicants to obtain or maintain their wings!

What’s an AASI?
AME Assisted Special Issuances (ASSI) allow for the AME to re-issue a medical certificate for a disqualifying medical condition following the initial Special Issuance of the condition, once the AASI's specialized criteria is met and the applicant is otherwise qualified.
Do not Issue / Do not Fly Medications
Do Not Issue (DNI) Medications: If the applicant is routinely taking any of the the DNI medications, the medical certificate will be deferred and the FAA will follow guidelines.
Do Not Fly (DNF) Medications: Are aeromedically concerning and Pilot’s should be well educated on use and additional No Fly wait times where applicable. If applicant is using the following medications routinely, application is deferred and applicant is almost always issued a Special Issuance.
